Terrell Campus Library FAQ's: General Library Information

Frequently Asked Questions (Terrell Library)

General Information

Food and Drink Policy

Beverages in covered containers are permitted in the library with the exception of the areas around the computer stations.  Food is not allowed in the LRC.

Group Work

Students may engage in group work in the general library area. Students working together in the main library are asked to keep their conversations to a minimum in order to avoid disturbing other students.  Study groups needing to actively engage in their group can ask at the counter for an available classroom to use.

Textbooks

The library as a rule does not carry textbooks for student use unless an instructor places the book on reserve.  Reserve items do not leave the library.

Cell Phone Policy

Students are asked to place their phones on vibrate.  Students needing to answer or place a call may do so in the outside foyer of the library.

Personal Possessions

Do not leave personal belongings unattended.  The library is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.

IDs and Parking Permits

All students are required to have a TVCC ID card and parking permit. These can be obtained in the LRC at anytime during the semester. Parking Permits are required to park on campus. You must have your license plate number to register your vehicle.

ID cards are required for checking out books in the LRC, for computer use in the LRC, picking up financial aid disbursements, selling back textbooks, and proctored testing.

Smoking/Tobacco Use

All TVCC campuses are smoke free.

Minor Children

Per TVCC policy, "minor children are not permitted to remain unattended on campus or to attend classes with parents."

Homework/Research Assignments

We encourage students to come to the library to complete any homework and most certainly their research assignments.  The library can't, however, do your homework or assignments for you.  Library staff will be more than happy to help with locating the appropriate materials for research, directing you to resources on our online databases, and directing you to resources to assist with questions about citation styles or how to avoid plagiarism.  Students that need specialized assistance with homework can contact the tutor coordinator on campus.

Copy Machine

Students may make black and white copies using the library's copy machine.  Copies are .10/page.

Fax/Scan Services

Students may send faxes from the library at a cost of $1 per page. Students may use the scanner free of charge. A flash drive is required to use the scanner. Please see staff for the use of these services.
